Authentication Hook

  1. Console Access: Authenticate via the Vercel Management Portal.
  2. Generate Credentials: Navigate to the AI Gateway tab within your team dashboard and initialize a new API key.
  3. Capture Token: Copy the key for integration.

Expansive Model Catalog

The Vercel AI Gateway supports an ever-growing library of engines. Sypha automatically synchronizes with the Vercel registry, authorizing dozens of language models for immediate use.

  • Sypha Default: If no specific model is designated, the system utilizes anthropic/claude-sonnet-4.
  • Advanced Capabilities: Many models in the Vercel catalog support multi-modal vision inputs and specialized tool-use (computer use).

Configuring Sypha

  1. Open Workspace Config: Select the gear icon in the Sypha sidebar.
  2. Define Provider: Choose Vercel AI Gateway from the registry.
  3. Insert Credentials: Paste your Vercel API key into the designated field.
  4. Assign Primary Engine: Select your intended model from the dropdown.

Strategic Operational Features

  • Automatic Prompt Caching: Sypha leverages Vercel's caching layer (for models like Claude and GPT-4) to significantly reduce token expenditure on recurring prompts.
  • BYOK (Bring Your Own Key): Utilise Vercel’s infrastructure with your own provider keys for zero platform markup.
  • Governance & Monitoring: Track every interaction and set hard budgets at the gateway level to prevent cost overruns.
  • Zero Rate Limits: Vercel does not impose additional rate limiting, allowing you to operate at the maximum capacity of your upstream providers.
