Integrating an AI Provider

To power its reasoning capabilities, Sypha requires a secure connection to an external AI model provider via an API key.

We prioritize support for elite models like Claude 3.7 Sonnet through the following integration paths:

• Sypha Gateway (Standard): The most streamlined path. Provides instant access to the diverse model registry available via OpenRouter with transparent pricing and initial developer credits. Pricing Reference
• OpenRouter (Router): Access a multitude of frontier models using a single API credential. Model Pricing.
• Anthropic (Direct): Direct interface for the Claude ecosystem. Requires service approval and follows standard Tier-based rate limits.

The Sypha Integrated Experience

Upon installing the extension, you will be invited to authenticate with the Sypha Provider.

Selecting this option manages the account architecture for you and automatically synchronizes your environment. If you prefer to utilize your own infrastructure, follow the manual key acquisition steps below.

Manual Infrastructure Integration

1. Acquiring Your Infrastructure Credentials

Category A: Model Routers

Routers enable you to toggle between various models using a single API key, consolidating your billing and simplifying model management.

OpenRouter

1. Log in to openrouter.ai using GitHub or Google.
2. Visit the Keys Dashboard to initialize a new credential.
3. Securely copy the token for your Sypha configuration.

Requesty

1. Authenticate at requesty.ai.
2. Navigate to the API Management portal to generate a new key.
3. Critical: Store your key immediately, as it cannot be retrieved from the dashboard later.

Category B: Direct Service Providers

For developers requiring a direct relationship with a specific model architect:

Anthropic

1. Sign in to the Anthropic Console.
2. Access the API Keys section to create a new secret token.
3. Internal Note: Ensure the token is saved securely upon generation.

OpenAI

1. Enter the OpenAI Platform.
2. Access the Keys Management area to generate an integration key.
3. Internal Note: Store the generated secret safely for the next step.

2. Finalizing the Sypha Connection

Once you have obtained your credential:

1. Launch the Sypha dashboard via the IDE Activity Bar.
2. Within the onboarding screen, select your designated Provider from the selection menu.
3. Apply your secret credential to the provided input field.
4. Designate your target model:
   • For OpenRouter users: Target anthropic/claude-3.7-sonnet.
   • For direct Anthropic users: Target claude-3-7-sonnet-20250219.
5. Select "Let's go!" to commit your settings and initialize Sypha.
